Long Time, No See, Lot's of News!

Elias being shown to us for the very first time.
Well hello again blog land!
It's been quite some time since I've been around to type my thoughts and feelings on being pregnant mainly because I'm not pregnant anymore! Elias was born at 12:29 pm, on May 20th, 2012. He was born (much to my disliking) by C-Section because my midwives and doctors said there was no possible way I was going to be able to push him out. I also feel like they stopped giving me pain relief until I gave in. On a scale from 1-10 for pain, I started at a 10 when my contractions hit and then by the time I was pushing, they were a 92734.  I also do believe that had they "allowed" me to switch positions, I would have been able to use gravity to get him to move down the birth canal. Anyway, he was delivered, cleaned up quickly, then handed over to me while they closed me up on the OR table. They called it a "gentile cessarian" which means that they allow the cord to stop pulsing as long as the baby and myself were healthy and also that I was to hold him immediately after birth. I was glad that at least they followed those directions.

Elias weighed 10 pounds, 8.6 ounces and was 22 inches long. He has nursed like a champ from the start and we still breastfeed to this day (he is now 3 months and 3 days old at the time I type up the entry).

Cloth diaper and wubbanub love.
I've labeled myself as a crunchy mom; I love attachment parenting, breastfeeding, LOVE cloth diapering, babywearing and bedsharing.
