At the beginning of the month, Ken and I started the 21 day sugar detox. This eliminated all Sugars and Sweeteners as well as dense carbohydrates and grains. It was tough at times but it definitely opened my eyes to the foods I was putting in my body.
Everything has sugar in it. Pretty much anyway. Meats are sometimes cured with it. It's in breads and pastas and soda and sooo much more. The way to eliminate it is to go to a strictly meat and veggie diet. I was allowed to have a banana or apple a day if I wanted and was allowed sweet potato as well. I went from never eating breakfast to eating a mound of bacon and eggs. At lunch, I ate salad loaded with almonds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, turkey chunks and cheese topped with balsamic vinegar only. I lost 18.5 pounds and about 3 inches on my chest, arms, waist, hips and thighs. I think that alone will help me stick with this new lifestyle. I don't really miss carbs but I do miss sugar some days. I'm scared to eat it though and undo everything I just spent most of my month working on!
Aside from that, I've been working hard sewing things for people and also started collecting items to create a small photo studio in the downstairs bedroom that is mine for the taking. It's pretty sweet. I am going to be doing Elias' smash cake as soon as the parts I'm waiting for come in tomorrow. Well. that's all I have going on for now.
